Okay, more fleas on the brain, but I"ve been battling them for a couple of weeks now. The new pup has had fleas despite the Frontline, soakings in Dawn liquid solution, flea baths, and garlic in his food. I read that Brewer's yeast with garlic was a good natural deterrent to fleas. I went to Tractor Supply and bought the bottle of Brewer's Yeast tablets, and gave him one wrapped in cheese. But then I read that this can cause bloat in dogs, and it was recommended to, instead, dillute the Brewer's yeast and saturate the dog's fur with it. I did this too. Remember, I'm desperate here! I didn't want to add any more insicticides to the pup, and I hoped this would help.
Earlier in the day when I inspected him, he still had fleas, but tonight, he seems to be, after close inspection, free fo fleas, and not scratching! I don't know if it was the internal pill or the soaking that did it, but I hope this remedy continues to work.
Sorry for obsessing.
