My mom told me I locked myself in a bathroom when I was around 5. Experimenting with what happens when you turn the key! The slipped a piece of paper under the door and eventually coaxed me into putty the key on the paper so they could pull it to the other side of the door and get me out.

Darkeyes -- I locked myself out of my apartment in the cold with my dog once, too. I had to take a taxi -- with no money -- to a friend's house, get them to pay the taxi driver and let me stay the night -- then I called my landlord to let me in in the morning.

Hmmm -- it is starting to sound like a lifelong pattern of locking myself in or out of places!
