This was the first time I planted spaghetti squash. They are a winter squash and from what I've read, you don't pick them until the vines die, which should be around September. By the time the ones in my garden are to be picked, they will be as big as watermellon.

I don't remember when or where or even who baked the squash, but I do remember they were the size of a cereal bowl, cut in half and baked..and of course, they were delicious.
Even planted pumpkins and gords. Pumpkins have lots of flowers and no lil pumpkins yet? Just huge leaves and vines. I think they are pumpkins.. geesh, looks like I do need to take a crash course in identifying unusual veggies.
ha.. been planting veggie gardens for years and it looks like I don't know one plant from another..might have to pack my farmer's jeans and stick to planting flowers. Well, actually very few of the flowers I've planted this year have grown. Maybe my once green thumb has turned blue on me..
oh.. looks like I missed my ride to my son's house. Been missing that ride all week. Before I packed, I'd be be up and about around 7am. Since I've made plans to go to my son's, I seem to be waking up around 9am, which is when my ride leaves. Thinking maybe deep inside I don't really want to go there..shrugs shoulders. Maybe I will get there tomorrow.
