Yes it is quite bizarre. She didn't report it actually, the grandmother did, saying that once she tracked her daughter down her car smelled of dead body. There are other news programs carrying the story, so you don't have to put up with Nancy's irritating style.

The mother (very young) will probably be dx'd with something imo, at least as a pathological liar. IDK why the court is allowing all the phone calls with her in jail to be made public. That's not illegal but highly unusual.

While there's always a chance that someone in the underworld has her child, or has taken her child as payment or such and she's silenced for the child's safety, I sense that there is more to this than just a babysitter who absconded with the child. The dna from the car should have been back by now, as well as the psychological makeup report. The police might just be waiting til the limit on the current warrant and then will pop those up, keeping her in jail. They can't hold her much longer on the charges they have her in on with the absurdly high bail.

It's a great case for those who are voyeurs and can handle the gruesome to be.
