Are you kidding me? My children were NEVER out of my sight when they were that small, unless asleep in their beds. If they were outside, so was I... even as elementary school children they had to come home after school and check in first before going anywhere. I think it's the society mores that have changed that doesn't impose such care upon parents these days? Plus, what schools teach home economics etc any more? What teenager babysits for money to spend anymore? Parents, hoping to make their children's lives better than theirs are just giving them everything and letting them go. Oh, I digressed didn't I? Sorry.

Why did the grandmother wait so long I wonder? She said something about trying to find where her daughter was, whom she spoke with on the phone often. But the grandmother was used to seeing her grandchild all the time... and she had to know the makeup of her own daughter (though imo a very imbalanced family there) so why did she wait a month, until SHE found her car and daughter, before calling the police?
