I agree with that. Even by trying to stand my ground I will lose anyway and even be more hurt so I might as well simply walk away.

I don't know why some people bully others. Maybe because they feel they are holding a power of some kind. Maybe it makes them happy because they don't know what happiness is. Maybe a lot of things.
