How does one go about getting meds when you can't afford them (temporarily) and doctors have stopped giving out samples?

Yes, I know about PPARX. They want tax returns, in most cases, and I make too much to qualify (which is not to say I make a lot!). I am on short-term disability and having trouble with the bank, and right now I am so overdrawn (thanks to a bank error they won't fix) it's not even funny.

Ideas?
