Thanks for the responses. I am 19, so I have definately reached the age of majority though my mom fails to realize it. The surgeon I saw that recommended I have the surgery is not my normal doctor. It was my normal doctor that said I should not have the surgery. I am going to go get a new ultrasound since one doctor said that the first one was not a really good image and I am going to see a third doctor, my mom's doctor.
The problem is that even if I do have sludge, my mom has read all these health books that say that diet can resolve gall bladder disease. Though I doubt that. So she is pretty convinced that I dont need the surgery.
I know there are other tests that you can do for the gallbladder but I do not think that they are available here, or at least they have not been offered to me. One doctor did say that I should not be having as much pan as I am describing so maybe it is something else. I dont know. Its just really confusing right now. Thanks for your help though.
