Can you talk to your friend about this and let him know you are really concerned?

The best thing you can do right now for your friend, is to be a good friend. Check in on him periodically, and just be there to listen. If he mentions killing himself again, ask him if he has a plan.

If you find out that your friend has a specific plan about how he might harm himself, then talk to the family again. Let them know that he has a specific plan, and that they need to talk to T about it ASAP.

I might also do some reading on suicide warning signs, so that you have good information, and can use that to convince the family.
