if you have a foreign object in your eye it needs to be removed or it will continue to irritate and infect. and infection of the eye CAN cause blindness. hubby is blind in one eye and it sucks. he has very poor (non existent) depth perception, and has been known to step on/bump into people while walking etc. not to mention the fear that comes of knowing if something happens to the other eye then he will be totlly blind. PLEASE go back and let them check it out and listen to what they say. eye drops are not so bad, and if there is still rust residue(could have come from anything rusty) then it won't go away on it's own. take care sweety.
