hmm... this sounds similar to the kids that get lots of ear infections and need to get tubes in thier ears, they make 2 tiny slits and put in a special tube so it drains the infection. As far as I know after some time the tubes are removed. I don't know if yours will be left in or not. Maybe you want to look this up on WebMD.com?
