I finally came online to check email and messages. Found one that I suspected. A "reply" from my doctor. I emailed him over the weekend asking him if he'd confirm ahead of time what I suspected--that, assuming I actually talk this time about what's wrong, he'll put me on a renal diet. I logged on to the website and checked his schedule--he opened up an appointment. (That's his "reply".) I already have one scheduled for next week, so it's just the "message" I needed. So next appointment assume I do talk he will officially take me off a majority of foods and adjust my meds for for someone with renal failure. I don't think I'm be real close to dialysis, but I really can't say how far off either. I have enough signs and symptoms that I can't rule it out. I used to work the renal unit when I worked at the hospital years ago, so I have some knowledge of things, besides when I was in nursing school but more from work experience at the hospital. I can't say that I am looking forward to any food restrictions. My blood sugar has been up/down for a long time and kidney issues affect it alot. My blood sugars are always up/down, so I'll probably be on a restricted calorie diet too. None of this works with my current "lifestyle". It's almost impossible. Especially without food stamps. The shelters won't even allow me back in the sites when they open this fall right now either. If I would happen to need dialysis, that immediately approves a person for medicaid and food stamps though, so I'd possibly qualify for more housing options because of that.
