<font color="purple">I thing it depends on what your obsessing over. I've only realised that my thoughts were obsessive recently really, I was born this way so I thought it was normal. Anyways, I think a person can manage thoughts to the point of tolerance, but I'm not sure if you can eradicate them completely...but that's just from my expirience, I've never been overly agressive in my effort to mange my obsessions with maybe two thoughts as exceptions because the other ones have yet to really bother me.

As for compulsions, it really is hard work in order to break the cycle. If you are unaware that you're doing them at the time they happen, then you have to make even more effort to both notice and stop the behavior. It's really tough at first, but I think that it eventualy pays off. </font>
