<font color="purple"> Hang in there.
Two house hunt stories when I looked for my own place after my husband left me in January 07: The first apt I looked at was a hundred year old house attached to the back of an old country store. v e r y narrow staircase to second floor. Don't know how the bedroom furntiture ever would have gotten up there! Attached to the house was the "laundry room" more like a shed barely holding on. It seems that the hot water heater in the "Laundry room" was the hot water heater for my apartment, two other apartments, and the country store and it was hooked up to MY utilities! ! ! ! I've seen 100year old houses before but this one was sad. Rickety porch. Door knob that didn't lock. And I wasnt' going to pay for everybody's hot water.
So I went on to house search number two. It was a basement apartment. Windows across two walls. It let in so much light! The apartment had a full bath. Nice. The large room was to be living room and bedroom and dining room. What would have been a small bedroom was the kitchen. The sink was a very small bar sink. A full size refrigerator. But I didn't see a stove. No problem I said if I had to buy one, but get this: no stove hookup. Not gas. Not electric. Nada. He said all his previous tentants all cooked in the microwave. Tempting, but if I need chocolate brownies I want an oven I can cook them in! A nice studion type apartment but I gotta have a stove. I thought all apartments had stoves or stove hookups.
I'm hoping for the best for you and the kids.
