I'll go with the bad news first, just to get it out of the way. My dad's uncle died yesterday. However, it was expected. He was very sick, and was not getting better. I don't know exactly what was wrong with him, but he was in and out of the hospital a few times, and had an oxygen tank. Surprisingly, I'm doing pretty well. I guess I would be more upset if I knew him better and if it wasn't expected. The last time I saw him was when we went to visit him and his wife in Ohio on vacation when I was 7 or 8.
And now, the good news. I got a pay raise at work today.

I was very nervous when my boss came up to me and said she had something to talk to me about. I assumed I was getting fired, although there honestly is no reason to why I should have. I guess that's just my gut reaction to assume the worst. But, there was nothing bad about this conversation at all. Now I'm getting paid $10 an hour, instead of $9. I was also told that I'm still doing a good job and that they trust me.
