Don't you worry, you're NOT alone on this here scenario!
I have to say, I'm not done with college, but I DO have my Technician's Certificate, and even with that, I can't find a job anywhere. Where I live, there's not a single position at fast foods restaurants, gas stations, or even supermarkets! I'm a college student, so I need the money. Rather than full-time, I'm looking for whatever I can get, be it part-time, or weekends only.
In my house, my parents (which I have to live with because I can't afford an apartment) also see me as a slacker, even though my father, which is the primary burden-seeker in the household, has been with me when I go give in my resumés and try to impress the employers with whatever I can offer them. I'm stuck right now until I find a way to make money that would look good on a resumé for a future full-time job. And it's not just the part-times... Full-times are gone too from PR, forcing me to stay in my vicious circle. And if I can't find full-times, I'd rather get part-times, where I can study while earning some money at least.
There are study-work programs in college, but they, too, are full. Hopefully next year I'll go back to my previous college (when I finish paying off the debt of my last apartment there), and hopefully I'll apply months before the semester begins. That's my only salvation at the moment that I've managed to find...
I know how horrible it is to have people breathing up and down your neck, demeaning you and making you feel worthless because you just haven't had luck. All I can say is: Hold on, keep trying, and get whatever job you can while an opening on a TV or Radio Station appears. That way, you're working somewhere where you're actually making money and an image to keep your family off of your back, while looking for your dream job, which will be there when the time is right.
