Okay, that was harse, but you get the idea. Parents don't go to school and learn how to be parents, unfortunately, and they are prone to the same mistakes, neuroses, insanity as the rest of us. Leave them behind for now, focus on the now and the YOU...and eventually you will come to understand that while your parents made you, you are still flexible to create a self very much independent of the flawed one they might have created!
