You aren't alone.

I have a psych degree and lost my job a month or 2 ago. I applied for some jobs. Got hired and fired before I even started the new jobs. One wasn't in my field and I was responsible for not getting the job after i was hired.

The other was a retail job I thought would be fun. Just working in a tobacco and wine shop. I interviewed, was hired, went in for my first day and was told that the owner had realized (or changed his mind, I don't know) he could only offer 6 hrs a week.

I'm thinking that working in my field isn't what I want to do anymore. I've worked in my field for probably 8-10 yrs. and now i want to do something else.

I'm thinking of ways to work for myself. Do you have any interest in working for yourself? I bet you have skills, talents or whatever that you can use to your advantage. Maybe something that no one realizes you can do or have an interest in...If that's something that you're interested in that is.

I'm good for brainstorming and that kind of thing, usually. If you want to chat or whatever, feel free to contact me.

Just remember the economy sucks, the job market sucks, and possibly, the way to finding a job / income may be to do something not ordinarily thought of as part of the job searching process. Maybe, one should do something a little less typical or a little out of the ordinary with their job search.
