I thought I wasn't lactose intolerant, but today proved otherwise. Ugh.

I put large amounts of milk in my coffee and I often have ice cream with no problems.

There have been clues though.

I remember having horrible pain, gas, bloating, diarrhea and nausea after drinking a large milkshake.

Then today I had a cup of chocolate milk on an empty stomach and again, horrible stomach pains, diarrhea, gas and bloating.

I just read that 93% of Chinese people have lactose intolerance.

I also read that in it's rare in people of European descent.

It turns out that 70% of the world's population become lactose intolerant after their early childhood.

So, lactose intolerance is actually the norm and shouldn't be considered a disease at all.

The people who can tolerate lactose have a relatively new mutation.

Ugh, I knew there was a reason I instinctively hate milk. LOL
