I did this at the beginning of my therapy. At the time, I was unable to discuss any details of the abuse, but they were haunting me all day and night outside of session. It definitely sucked, but it really helped me. It helped me get over some of the fear and shame of discussing the facts of what happened so that I could start to work on processing it.

The hardest part is that it increased my PTSD symptoms initially. But they did subside. I am glad I did the exposure work. One thing that helped me was discussing all the ways I could take control through the process.
