Wasting your parents money would be something more like---spending the same amount of money (or more) that they would on therapy, only instead wasting it on a shopping spree for clothes you don't need that you won't even wear next year. The difference is that a good therapist can help you to really start to live again, and feel good about yourself. Therapy can provide a lasting, positive impact for the rest of your life, enabling you to feel more confident and like who you are. Wasting money doesn't do anything like that.
Another thing to consider is that your parents might not have to spend hardly anything at all on the therapist. If they have insurance, the cost of seeing a therapist won't be near as much. You've nothing to lose. What's life without risks? Go for it.
