Muffy - my son has the same relationship with hornets. He's not allergic thank God, because no matter where he is, a hornet will find him.

He's 15 years old and over 6 feet tall and a hornet will still make him run screaming. He had a very bad experience when he was around 6. He was playing outside at a friends house and stumbled upon the nest in a tree stump.
