Hey EJ, Ts are here for us, they expect that we will occasionally need them. If we did not need them, we would not be in therapy.

I am sorry about your group experience. I can understand why it would hurt if everybody started laughing about something you disclosed. Remember, sometimes people laugh or make sarcastic remarks when they feel uncomfortable. Maybe you were hitting a button for them. Please, don't think I am making excuses for them--I am not. I think group work can be some of the most rewarding therapy options available to us. I really, really, encourage you to go back to group and tell them what you felt when they laughed. Don't just let it go and feel bad about yourself. Make a change and tell them how you feel and how their comments and laughter effected your life. That would be a great growing opportunity for you. It would take a lot of guts, but I bet you can do it. And, I bet the group members might take a look at how their behavior affects others, so you would be helping them grow too.
