Sometimes he has just put his arm around my shoulders and given a squeeze as I am leaving and doesn't ask for this, but if it is a full-on hug, he always asks. I thinks it's very sweet. (But maybe asking permission is just something they learn in therapy school in their Touch 101 class.)
