First, we do care. Next, haven't you been prescribed any "mood stabilizers"?? I understand your frustration, depression, agitation, if you have been DXed Bipolar.
My own experience, and family's, see it runs in my family, is that a good pdoc. and good mood stabilizer(s) are key to this, unfortunately, it may take a try with various ones till you come to the right one(s), providing you stay compliant with it.
Grant you, this is not a quick cure sort of thing, but in most cases, meds. and therapy can quell much of this damn, stuff that we have to go through.
Fortunately, compared to 20 yrs ago there are many more options for us Bipolars.
I wish I could give you a better answer, but when one is Bipolar, anti-depressants alone, will NOT address Bipolar in it's entirety (sp?), we still need a "good" stabilizer, fortunately, I just have to use Lamictal, no AD's, plus they "pooped" out after time, so I was switched to Lamictal, but there are others for others . . . I'm telling you this after being tried on other stuff.
Lithium was terrific, I was able to drive and work, without fatigue, as opposed to other stuff, but because I am BP-II (mild) having more of the depressed side of this, Lamictal addressed both parts.
Now, my bro, is another story, BP-I, more proned to very manic episodes, accompanied with violence

Soooooooooooooo! the Lithium works best for him, its been over 30 yrs. he has been on it and it is truly a miracle for him.
PS
Great med. if you are proned to agitated, manic episodes, I loved Lithobid, during that time in my life.
Bottom line, all meds do not work the same for everyone, like "one size does NOT fit all" so you need to discuss it with your pddoc and any alternative options to your present meds.
I know it is a hassle, but please do not give up, there are so many options, and so very many of them work. . . but we have to be honest, and compliant.
Please take care, and know I truly wish you lots of luck with this.
Keep in touch.
Sincerely,
DE
