"I started donated blood to the American Red Cross last year. I like to watch them stick the needle in and the blood drip into the bag. I wonder if this helps to satisfy my cutting urges?

To be clearer, I haven't cut for over two decade, since I was a teenager, and even when I did that, I only did it above my wrist (palm down) just enough to draw a very small amount of blood.

I was going to donate some blood today, but wasn't able to get a ride back; that's why I associated the possibility of donating blood with cutting. Whether or not it would "help," I truly don't know. Usually what helps me is when people just shut up and listen.

And no, I do not work for the Red Cross and am in no way affiliated with them. Except for donating blood and maybe one day me or a family member might need blood that someone has donated to them."
