I tried unchecking it, and links still appear clickable. Must be a glitch.
Friendship requests usually show up as a new Notification, in the area that new private messages show up in the upper-right hand corner of every page (below the search box and the 2 navigation bars). If you miss it there, you should also find the new request at the bottom of your Friends & Contacts list (scroll down).

My friendship request never did appear. Got lost in some black hole. I hope they try again.
And now, WHAT is a vCard? I Googled it, and it was not explained in simple English but in technobabble speak. Some of us are not so "tech savvy"! Once again, it's an option I don't know if I want on unless I understand what it does. Also please explain the 2 formats of XML or CRV (I think it's CRV). Text is self-explanatory.
