Depression makes it really hard to be motivated to get stuff done. It's part of the disease, especially when everything just feels overwhelming.

One thing I found helped me was to break up the stuff I had to do up into really small tasks and write them down. So instead of saying I need to clean up the kitchen, I'd say today I need to wash the dishes (more manageable). And when I accomplished what I needed to, I always treated myself to a reward.
