I didnt want to post this. I wanted to keep it to myself till i got the results. But i'm really nervous. Last time, back in 2004 when i was 34 i had a tumor (large mass) in my breast that was removed surgically and a biopsy done. It was found to be benign.

Friday before last, the day before we had to evacuate i had a mammogram. My regular doctor felt something. I was told by the radiologist that i have microcalcifications. Next thursday, the 18th, i will be having a biopsy. Not surgically, but in the office. The breast center is just starting to get back online, thats why i have to wait till then. They did want to do it that friday they found it. But im scared shitless of needles and i saw the needle they are going to insert the last time. So i refused that day. The radiologist called me on the way home wanting me to come back so they could do it. I just told her i cant today.

Anyway. I would like someone who has had a biopsy done to please explain what will happen. I know they deaden the spot twice. But i hear they stick a wire in, then a tube and an incision is done. I really want to know how the procedure is done. I dont know whats true. The nurse told me because of my issue with needles there is a possibility i will be restrained to the gurney. She wouldnt go into what happens, cause she said she has the feeling i wont show up. Now that really scares me.

If anyone has gone through this, please share your experience with me.

Right now the biopsy is scaring me a whole hell of alot more than the chance of having cancer.

I will be so grateful to hear how the biopsy was done on you.
