Gas is more expensive lots of other developed places in the world and the United States uses more than its "share". A lot of our prices are high because of all the state taxes on them; that's why the differences state-to-state. We don't need more refineries and they need to be close to where the oil is to be most cost effective! It's Mother Nature's doing that a hurricane is there, not some political party's. It will go back down to a dull roar when the hurricane is over and things get cleaned up.
