Dear Katheryn,
Your husband did the right thing. Being responsible is important but sometimes things go off in ways we don't plan.
When I was 19, my friend took me to some new people who invited her over. I don't remember what happened exactly but she took off and left me there. I did not feel free to call home for a ride and later that evening I was raped. I don't remember it clearly, it was like a horrid nightmare - I did not drink alcohol - don't know if I was slipped a drug, but the one who raped me was a practicing satanist... chunks of time are missing in the night. I left at daylight and then it went blank.
All that because I couldn't call home for a ride and had no one else to call.
I have two daughters of my own and I would never leave them without a ride. I always told them even if they made a horrid mistake to call me and I would pick them up with no scene over whatever.(Please don't be offended,I'm not speaking against your spouse, he's right to teach responsibility for actions. I just feel that young girls in America are more vulnerable at night so I always wanted to encourage them to come to us for help even when they have messed up royally! I love my two daughters so much because of who they are and partly because I lost 3 others before birth, so the two who remain are my darlings!
