I had to say I had something similar happen to me recently but with a doctor in the same clinic I go to. Luckily mine had a happy ending. My doctor had gone on vacation and I had a migrane. I had to call in for something for the pain of the migrane and the medicine I was requesting I guess was in the cocktail I used when I OD'd 6 years ago. So the doctor they asked refused to give it to me without me coming in. Of course by the time he got this relayed to the nurse they had closed the office and so I had to come in the next day. I still had a headache so I kept the appointment and he told me why he wouldn't just give it to me over the phone and I told him that was wayyyyyyyyy in my past and that I have been stable for over a year and that he didn't need to worry about it and he told me that he would never give me any pain meds over the phone. I would always have to come in to see him. I was very glad my doctor doesn't go on vacation very often. Luckily, after meeting with me and seeing I truly was in pain he gave me the meds and a refill til I was able to see my doc when he came back from vacation.

So I feel your pain.
