my mother was my payee.......she wouldn't give me, my money, wouldn't use it ofr herself, just forced me, to save all of it, went on to demand my $800 tax return too, overpaid my rent to my dad, and i went to every social service agency trying to get her off, she would then call them and convince them for her to remain, my payee, my doctor wouldnt sign the slip for me to get my own money, because, you guessed it, he didn't want to piss off my mother..lawyers wouldn't help, I reported misuse to the disability, they did nothing, my psychiatrist finally pointed out to my mother this was a touch on the unhealthy side, she finally relented, but once you get a payee, you always have to have a payee, now an agency gets my money and gives it to me, although, they charge a fee for this, one I cannot, afford..................to remember this, I am crying now

Out of my many trips to social security, they said yes, the payee system causes many families hatred towards each other and the destruction of them, yet "It was set up with the best of intentions...." I can see perhaps someone who cannot physically write out their checks for bills, but there was nothing in my history that showed I needed a payee, and I have no idea, why I was assigned one, let alone my cold hearted mother of all people..
I am so sorry to take readers down this road I posted when it was happening and not one person could help, me...
Well be blessed, you have a husband, the path of being single, is a treacherous, one.............
