smells can trigger me too...... the smell of damp canvass gives me flashbacks which is not good as we camp at music festivals..... it takes me into a kind of trance for a few seconds, usually i can just think of something else ..... depends what state of mind I am in ..... also the perfume my mother used to wear yuk ..... makes me nauseous .....
