hi greg,

my experience is that i've suffered long-term depression. i tried many different kinds and brands of depression meds and they did not work. i also saw many different doctors and some were pretty good and a few were worthless and one psychologist was abusive.

BUT, my primary care physician who had stuck by me through thick and thin and is a general doctor ONLY, is the one who let me try a depression med that i heard about and asked to try. yep, you guessed it - it was the only one that has helped me so far. it helped my depression to get better (though not perfect) and it eased the physical pain issues that have plagued me for years.

My suffering has eased enough for me to be able to do more in therapy, which seems like a win/win to me The moral of my little tale is sufficiently obvious I'm sure.

Do not give up Greg. Fight for your life, literally. Your comment toward the end shows a lean toward suicidal thinking - I always take such remarks seriously so You really need to get help - no matter what you need to do to be taken seriously.

Your life matters to me. I have struggled a lot and I know what it is like to wish for death and to actually be suicidal. That is the wrong idea to pursue. Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. It is selfish and cruel to those who care and know you. Don't do suicide to other people.

Feel free to pm me if i can be any help in listening to you. I'm no expert as I've said, but I've been around the block a few hundred times. You are the only one of your kind, a unique creation, do not throw away your life or we all lose.

"Every man's death diminishes me" I do not know who said that quote, but there is truth in it. I do know that John Donne said, "No man is an island." Pull on us here for support while you look around for a new doc/T. That's what we are all here for. With Concern,
