That's nonsense. Everything is taken away from everyone all the time. The only permanent thing is this universe is change. Unhappiness comes when you try to hold onto the impermanent things (like "good thing," as you say) thinking and hoping that they'll last. But they don't. This is the second noble truth that took the Buddha 30 something years to formulate, and look, you may have discovered it RIGHT NOW.

If you want to be happy, don't depend on things being in a certain configuration. Just be satisfied with where they are, even if they suck. It takes practice; start today!

We attach not only to physical things, but also to ideas and opinions about ourselves and the world around us. Then we grow frustrated when the world doesn't behave the way we think it should and our lives don't conform to our expectations.

The Buddha's teachings on karma and rebirth are closely related to the Second Noble Truth.
Thanks for this!
