All you have to do is vacuum the couch....its not necessary to wash it in hot water or steam clean. It is important to wash your clothes, towels and bedding in hot water....You should also vacuum the carpeting and then change the bag and get rid of the one you just used....outside the house....Good luck to you....scabies is the worst....I had it back in 1992
