I am certainly no expert. I can just say what I would do under same circumstances.

I guess I would give the Effexor time to settle as to how it's going to make you feel. I don't know that Ativan and Effexor have any interactions. (I don"t think so) I would think if they did your doc or pharmacist would have been alerted. You can always call and ask.

As far as the dentist and taking the Ativan Could you tell the dentist how stressed you are and then do take it when you get ready to go in? I often take Ativan as 1/2 mg instead of 1mg. It takes the edge off without feeling drowsy.

I believe non-drowsy cough meds would have the Ephedrine but the Night time certainly should not. It is the active ingredient to make it non-drowsy.

I guess I would suggest talking to Doc and Pharmacist to get a clearer and professional answer. I am just rattling out my opinion here.
