I don't want to throw words back in your face so I apologize if it comes out this way, but it sounded to me as though some of the issues you have been struggling with have been there for a long, long time, preceding the 2 years you guys were together. And is anyone ever completely cured? I hope so, but I'm starting to have my doubts...

I don't think she gave up on you... I think you should force yourself to change your terminology, because I'm sure you are twisting your own knife every time you say that. She didn't give up on you. She just gave herself the emotional break that she needed. Very different.
