Well, it wasn't me who created the different formats, and perhaps they just come with vbulletin. I rather like what I see.

What I'm wondering (since I didn't phrase it well) is the capabilities of each of the different categories. What exactly does "moderated" mean? Since all of the groups appear to gain at least one community team member after 3 social group members they are being moderated via the community team. Does that format give the organizer of the social group another option than that?

Does a "public" social group always stay visible, even if moved into a forum?

Yes, the social groups are visible to all. However, I think it is still quite okay to have invite only groups to help keep the discussions on topic. I'm sure if someone reads in the group something they wish to respond to, they will create a post in the public forums. Plus, I hope that anyone who wishes to join an "invite only" group, and meets the basic intents of the group, that they will ask to join through a PM.

I have no doubt that DocJohn knows what he's doing with the site. Anyone who has been here or who understands mental health issues does realize that anything "secret" or "private" or "exclusionary" will not feel good to some members. But IMO, there are many members here who are ready for a different experience, an additional experience.
