Oh Man! Mosquito control just called. They said they've had an abundance of birds found dead in the past few weeks and the majority of them sparrows. Which we had. They said they've got two documented cases of the virus just down the road in Poydras. About 5 miles away.
They said they are on their way here to pick up the bird. Then it will be sent to LSU for testing. And in about a week we will get the results. He said it does sound like West Nile.
They said since Bayou had both birds in his mouth to get him tested now. They said he could just run a fever and it will go away. Or it could turn into encephalitis. So now i'm getting ready to call his vet and tell him. See what he thinks to do.
They said for us to just watch we dont start feeling sick or running a fever. If we do he said to go to the doctor ASAP.
What next?
And my docs wonder why my anxiety wont go down.
