This may not be relevant, and if not, ignore me. In 2001 and 02 there were a series of deaths around me all around the same time of my initial friend in August. First him, then a month later 9/11, then a year nearly to the date of him was a co-worker i was close to. I had just cut my hair short and permed it and I saw her staring at me out the window trying to figure out who i was. I was pleased - and thought I'd see her later. Not only did I not see her, she died that night.
Soon after that, (this is the related part) i saw my mentor in much the same way - far away, down the hall, looking almost past me. I couldn't catch up with her, and she left. I was frantic that this would be just like my co-worker. I called, no answer. I couldn't reach her for several days (which, actually happened with me and my friend, too). When I did, i explained and she had us meet for lunch to show me she was fine and to break the pattern. But it was rough going there for a bit.
The point of all this is to hopefully ease your mind - t usually gets back to you, but this time there is a reason, and though it is keeping him from you, it will all be explained, soon. Breathe....
