Thank you to all for your support.

The diagnosis of cancer came in 2006. Two medical professionals gave us an estimated 6-12 months to live. My family member made it 23 months. I think I went through much of the grieving process during those months actually. The first months after finding out were the most difficult. I never doubted the diagnosis but I kept thinking something could be done to fix it. Once it was past one year I began to appreciate every day. I think I had accepted what was going to happen, so it was just a matter of when. I knew we were on borrowed time.

What happened wasn't a shock but when it happened was. I thought there would be more of an obvious decline or some sort of warning. Not so. The morning it happened I woke up around 4am because I knew something was wrong. About 15 minutes later it was all over.
