Well,
among the Medical community I think there is still disbelief- and some older clinicians will never "get it" so we need Drs that keep up with the current literature on abuse and the effects. Since my first hospitalization at 19 to when the Dx was even raised as a possibility took most of my adult life. I was given the DES only 1 year ago. Some clinicians my be closet believers because of the professional sceptisism of elders. also my current Dr doesnt put a dx code on the insurance forms because he sais he didnt want to have to explain himself and justify therapy. Managed Care likes to be cost-effective andDID therapy is anticipated as long-term. But I remember someone name anita met someone named amy. . .
