(((((((((((To All who share & Care Here)))))))))))))))))

This is from the heart mostly; but there's also the automatic "Nurse On Duty" who does the boring, tedious, auto-pilot talk

MPD was the "original dissaciation disorder" name back in the 80's-early 90's; New & innovative therapies come along to the point where the "Higher Up's" in the wide-world of psychiatric So -- "They" decided to re-word things & deemed the "disorder" as DID.........Today's reality, as somebody posted the med pros shy away from "DID b/c is DOES annotate "long-term therapy required" Here in the capitol city of Wisconsin; MOST dr's do not acknowledge DID...they have scaled it down to "Borderline Personality"

As a individual (excuse me, "us") working in the the psych community, who was just recently on a psych ward d/t severe migraines 24/7, the "Head Dude" of the unit told me that there is no such thing as DID anymore; told me that I just "had a multi-faceted personality" & basically that the other 8 of me/us that "we didn't exist." My D/C summary listed me as "Borderline Personality" Luckily, my T does/ is completely convinced that DID does exist.

I, as a professional in the mental health community, do completely agree that DID is alive and well.......but, I'm unemployed, by my insistent T's advice d/t MY beliefs. Why work in a field that does not acknowledge my Dx?

And as a last famous quote from a book called "Multiple Personality: From the Inside Out"......"I am not MPD, I have MPD."

FYI, goodnight reality........w/
