Well, I want to disclose that I'm speaking from a professional's standpoint on this one as I have never received DBT as part of my own treatment.

As a clinician, I love it. I use DBT for anyone struggling with emotion regulation issues. I mold it, flip it, change it up to suit individual needs. I have not yet had a negative reaction to it regardless of the population I use it with in session.

Still, I'm a very, very young clinician, new to the field, and I have a lot to learn. So, my opinions are untested in the big picture... only a few years old. It's possible that my opinions will change but right now, I love it and I think it's VERY useful as a starting point for treating all sorts of issues for all people... even beyond personality disorders.

Good luck with the group! I hope you enjoy it.
