I've been on Effexor XR for over 5 years at varying doses, after my 2nd trip to the ha-ha house in the same year my dose got upped to 450 mg. It's the only reason I'm still alive, IMHO. I never had any side effects, didn't gain any weight, didn't get lethargic (in fact, it wires me, so I have to take it in the morning).

Prozac, on the other hand -- when pdoc decided 40 mg wasn't working and pushed it up to 60, I had audiovisual hallucinations. And it didn't do a thing for my mood.

So.....we're all different!
