It is a difficult emotion. But it's not one that should be bottled up either. It is important to let it out in a safe way. Pillow-bashing is a good one, you can even draw a face on it if you want to.
Sometimes a more subtle way of letting it out is more helpful, like writing an imaginary letter to your abuser, not sending it but letting all those feelings out. It is quite liberating to do.
Sometimes just going for a long walk, bike ride or singing along to a loud song can help also.
