I've suffered from depression for many years, with multiple recurrences of major depressive episodes. I typically go a couple of years between major episodes.

Anyway, I've been sliding backward into the pit again, and my pdoc is trying to chop it off at the knees by giving me some different meds (always scary for me!).

Yesterday, she gave me a sample course of Provigil, which I'd never heard of before. I understand it's a stimulant; my doc says there is some clinical evidence that it can augment the ADs I take (Cymbalta, Lexapro) in about half the patients who try it.

My question: Anyone here take Provigil? Has it helped? Good/bad experiences?

Thanks!
