knowing how to kill yourslef is not the bad thing.
But when you sit down and say, these are the steps, That is bad.. Or when you write it in a journa how it would be done, or list the ways to have it done, that is bad.

being deperssed as most of us are when we come to this place can lead to hurting ourselves, and other things.

Knowing how, is somewhat a wrong thing, but as long as you never act on it, or really sit and think is this the only way out, you are doing better than some of us.
There are many ways out, and killing oursleves is not one of THEM
